Interview with Yusup Agzamhodjaev
Few years ago, employees of the Federal Registration Service (Rosreestr) have organized for the first time the Donor’s day, and today dozens of government institutions have followed their example. Yusup Agzamkhodjaev, the chairman of the trade union organization of the central office of the Federal State Register Service - the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography - told us that a good initiative always finds a response.

Tell us please about how did blood donation come up in Rosreestr?

When I was a student, I took a part in Donor's day organization in my university. Based on this experience, I offered Donor’s event to our public service. On 20th of July 2015 Donor's day was held for the first time in Rosreestr.

How often do you provide Donor's events? Are they always prepared by central office or local services may organize them at any convenient time?

Taking into consideration, how busy our employees are, and by recommendation from medics, we usually provide Donor's day twice a year. At the present time, these days are being held in almost all local offices across the country, despite the events which are organized in the central office.

Why does the trade union prepare Donor's days?

The trade union interact with public officials and with their top management. So, it is easy for us to settle a date, place and time of donor's event, inform about staff and attract people willing to participate.

Do you cooperate with trade unions from other government agencies with a view to develop donor movement?

In 2018 at the meeting of Moscow city organization (MGO) of the all-russian trade union of employees of state institutions and public services of the Russian Federation, I proposed to hold an uncompensated Donor’s day with all members of organization. Administration has supported the idea and on 19th of July 2018, the first charitable donor event took place in the MGO Trade Union building. It was attended by representatives of the trade unions of the State Duma, the Mayor’s Office and the Government of Moscow, the Federal State Registration Service, the Koptevo District Administration, the Office of the Council of Deputies of the Tekstilshchiki municipal district, the FSBI "All-Russian Institute for Research of Civil Defense and Emergencies Situations of the Emergencies Ministry of Russia", VTB Bank, the office of the Moscow City Committee of the Trade Union and other organizations.

What, by your opinion, is the most important in the work of attracting new donors?

The most important is to set an example itself and become a donor. As we know, the best way to inform people is to show an example.

Do you require incentive program for employees, who became donors?

The most important reward, by my opinion, is the understanding that your help - when you donate blood – prolongs life of an adult or a child.

What do you think is the social benefit from donor movement and why is this important for government organizations?

The only social benefit is to save people lives.

And our traditional question: what would you wish to donors and people, who are going to join donor program?

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all people and organizations involved in the development of donation, of course, to the donors and newcomers of the donor movement, to wish them good health. I hope, they won’t turn away from our direction and we will only move forward. Wise people know, that by giving the most precious, you gain more. Giving the most expensive and unique, giving LIFE to completely unfamiliar people, each donor becomes one step wiser.
