How did a blood donation become one of the major socially important projects for the company?
Blood donation on a regular manner is a voluntary and very important decision, which everyone can make to help people, because it is impossible to substitute donor’s blood and its components by synthetic chemicals. Company can help its employers to make an informed choice, by providing information and by hosting special events, there people have possibility to donate blood on regular manner.
Thanks to such approach we have a team of regular donors. It let medical institutions in the district to replenish the reserve of life important recourse. Of course, significant contribution to the development of the Donor movement was provided by our partners, including administration of Domodedovo city district.
How do you promote donor days?
We use all main corporate communication channels and provide possibility for employers to communicate back, ask questions. How can I help? What kind of doctor’s notes should be prepared? What is recommended and prohibited to eat before? These questions are simple, but the way we give answers help to decide to donate blood.
Is there positive dynamics in the number of donors? How many donors did come to you in the beginning, how many does come now?
First time not more, than 20 people has come to donate blood, now around 60 people regularly participate in our action.
In total, from 2011 400 of our employers have become donors. We focus our attention to increase the number of regular donors, without them our events start to lose practical meaning.
How do you cooperate with Moscow regional blood transfusion station?
Specialists from the station prepare calendar of events every year and agree it on with airport management. We discuss with them the expected number of people to visit and decide about convenient place. On the day of the event medical team come with all necessary equipment and work usually for 3 hours at the airport.
All donor materials are exempt on infections, and one of the blood components, plasma is in quarantine for six months. Donor's blood, collected during our campaigns are being used in the medical facilities for children.

Voluntary decision to become a donor is an act of compassion, grace, self-sacrifice and love. These are characteristics of a real human. Each donor should be honored by gratefulness and appreciation for a sincere desire to make world a better place. Thousands of patients require blood transfusion and its components every day, some of them require it during the whole life. Every decision to become a regular donor is a priceless help to people in a difficult situation.
