A list of Blood Service organizations whose sites will be evaluated in terms of information openness and accessibility was compiled and approved in January 2020. This list includes regional centers and blood transfusion stations from 85 constituent entities of the Russian Federation — headquarters, without including a branch network.
The main expert tool for assessment is an electronic questionnaire, developed with taking into account independent assessment of the quality conditions in medical organizations, as well as the opinions of blood donors. To improve it, an online donor survey was organized to help identify the significance of the information posted on the website of the Blood Service organization.
“Such work will not only allow us to adjust the questionnaire for an independent assessment of the Blood Service institution in terms of openness of information and accessibility. This is significant information for organizations of the Blood Service and volunteers of the donor movement: the results of an online survey will show what specific information is lacking for blood donors on the website of the regional blood transfusion station” Elena Stefanyuk the director of the National Health Development Fund, deputy head of the Coordination Center for blood donation at the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.
Internet questionnaire participants assess the importance of the various information placed on the website of the Blood Service organization on a scale from 1 to 3, where the information is absolutely not important, 3 - information is extremely important. An online survey is conducted from January 22 and runs through January 31, 2020. Everyone can take part in the survey by clicking the link https://forms.gle/bnV2TEfoQSyRxj4J9.
“According to the results of an express survey conducted also by the National Fund for Health Development in November 2019, its participants (more than 30%) noted low awareness as a significant barrier to the development of donation. The problem of low awareness is most relevant for the organizers of the donor movement (volunteers) and blood donors. For the Blood Service employees, the most significant is the absence of a regional donor development program and the low social status of blood donors, the same as for the donors” the publication from the website of the National Health Development Fund.
In February 2020, experts will actively begin work on evaluating the sites of blood service organizations in all regions of Russia. Events of the project “#DONORSTVOKROVIROSSII: an interaction space - model solutions for the Development of Regular Free Blood Donation in the Russian Regions” are carried out as part of the implementation of the grant of the President of the Russian Federation for the development of civil society provided by the Presidential Grants Fund.
