Sufficient supplies of donated blood in Russia was reported by the Ministry of Health
At present, Russian medical organizations and transfusion stations have a supply of donated blood and its components that fully meets the current need.

According to federal monitoring data, all applications of medical organizations that come to blood transfusion stations are executed in full.

“Stay a donor” campaign is being held as part of the donor movement in Russia, which aim is to call regular donors to donate blood for patients in need of treatment. The campaign is held in accordance with the existing anti-epidemiological measures, aimed at attracting regular donors to donate blood and creating favorable conditions for donation. At the same time, large-scale campaigns to attract new donors in these conditions are undesirable, since they carry potential risks of infection.

“I would like to note that citizens who donate blood regularly, and under the conditions of Covid-19, continue to be donors. At the same time, they strictly and disciplinedly comply with the requirements of doctors. The entire medical community expresses its deep gratitude to donors who continue to help in such difficult times” - Tatyana Gaponova, chief freelance transfusiologist of the Russian Ministry of Health.

Daily control of the presence of blood components and meeting the needs of medical organizations in all constituent entities of the Russian Federation are provided by The Ministry of Health of Russia.
