Donor points were deployed in almost all cities and regional centers of the country, about 5.5 million Soviet people donated blood. The vast majority of donors at the same time refused from compensation, transferring money to the needs of the front.

The collection “Blood Donation during the Great Patriotic War” was created in 2015, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Victory, and was the first Russian publication of materials to systematize the contribution of the donor movement in various regions of the USSR to the victory over fascism. In a single style with the updated and supplemented edition in the year of the 75th anniversary of the Victory of the collection, a congratulatory poster and a donation card were also issued. They can be used for registration of blood service establishments, donor actions, during conducting lessons of courage for youth, memorable evenings with veterans throughout the entire anniversary 2020.
