A mobile blood transfusion station was deployed directly on the territory of the ministry. Before donating blood, the EMERCOM personnel went through all the necessary preliminary procedures: an express blood test, blood pressure measurement and a medical examination.
The event was organized by the Russian Emergencies Ministry in cooperation with the A.N. Bakulev National Medical Research Center of Cardiovascular Surgery. The collected material will be used for open heart surgery. More than 20 such operations are performed at the A. N. Bakulev Center per day.
“The event was supported by the employees of the main offices of the EMERCOM of Russia by districts, they donated blood in the regional centers of the Blood Service. In total, more than 3.5 thousand EMERCOM employees took part, donating about 1.6 thousand liters of blood. Each EMERCOM employee donated about 450 ml of blood. Most of the participants have been active donors for several years and regularly replenish blood banks.
