On October 5, the monument "Thank you, donor!" was opened in Orenburg. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko and the Governor of the Orenburg Region Denis Pasler.

The ceremony was attended by the governor of the region Denis Pasler, the minister of health of the region Tatiana Savinova, doctors and activists of the donor movement. The Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko was the guest of honor at the ceremony.

The monument is installed in a new park near the buildings of the Orenburg State Medical University, where during the Great Patriotic War was one of the military evacuation hospitals. During the war years, more than 8 thousand Orenburg residents donated blood for the soldiers of the Red Army, more than 40 thousand transfusions were carried out a year. The creation of the memorial sign is timed to the 75th anniversary of Victory.

The right to open the monument was given to "Honorary donor of the Orenburg region" Tatyana Yekhanova.

“Despite the fact that more and more blood-saving technologies are used in healthcare, the demand for blood components is not decreasing. Due to the fact that we are faced with new challenges, with a new coronavirus infection, the plasma of recovered donors has also become a life-saving drug. That is how we extend life, save it. A number of drugs are made on the basis of donated blood. Therefore, donor support, gratuitous donation in the Russian Federation is a necessity for saving patients. Thanks to everyone involved in the donor movement and to the healthcare professionals who ensure the safety of blood. This monument deservedly stands in the center of the pedestrian zone of the Orenburg city. I think it will attract the attention of new young supporters of the donor movement” Mikhail Murashko Minister of Health said in his speech at the opening ceremony of the monument.

As part of the opening ceremony of the monument, Mikhail Murashko presented certificates and badges "Honorary Donor of Russia" to three Orenburg residents - Anton Dekke, Angelina Kovaleva and Alexei Nemolochnov. Donor dynasties received letters of thanks from the Governor of the Orenburg Region.
