Moscow hosted the Donor Day organized by the National Fund of Healthcare Development
Despite a storm warning in Moscow several dozens of people attended the Blood Donor Day on August 10. Concerned residents of the capital have responded to the call of the National Fund of Healthcare Development to help those in need of blood transfusions in the summer – the holiday season, when the hospitals experience an intense lack of blood donors as the trouble doesn’t have any holidays.
This time the campaign was attended by both primary donors - people who care and with active citizenship, who first learned of the shortage of donor blood in the country, and regular donors – who have been involved in many donor actions organized by the National Fund of Healthcare Development, people with a capital P, for whom blood donation is the norm, and not a random one-off event.

Donation in Latin means “to give”. On August 10 donors, who donated blood, gave many people in trouble the chance to live, love, hope and believe.

Representatives of the TV Company “Soyuz” have arrived to highlight the event. A film crew, having interviewed donors, doctors, organizers of the action and found out that blood donation is safe, healthy, and most importantly – can save lives - unconditionally decided to join the donor movement of the capital and join the ranks of blood donors.

The National Fund of Healthcare Development would like to thank all participants of the Donor Day, the doctors of blood transfusion station of the Moscow Healthcare Department and the reporters of the TV Company “Soyuz” for their active participation in the development of mass unpaid blood donation in Russia and for saving lives!
