The P&G staff are actively involved in charity work: they collect money for treatment of seriously ill children, make the dreams of orphan children come true, by pretending to be Father Christmas, patronize the Noginsk Boarding School and regularly visit children to talk to and give them a part of their souls, warmth and joy. Blood donation is one more important step to help those in need.
Now a few figures. Each third person on the Earth at least once in a lifetime was in need of donor blood. Every year 1 500 000 Russian people need blood transfusion. Every year about 1000 people in Moscow need donor blood. There are people who need donor blood all their lives. Blood is needed to those with burns and injuries, during difficult delivery or complicated operations, to people with cancer and blood diseases. These people’s lives depend on our self-sacrifice, compassion, humanity, nobleness and love. Those who were one day saved by donor blood are for all their lives going to remember the unknown person who was touched by their fate and gave them a chance to live!
Nowadays a lot of educational institutions and companies hold donor campaigns. People do respond to others’ troubles and try to help. The P&G staff have decided to join this noble action. Donor is derived from the Latin “donare” – to give. “Be a donor – give life!” – this is the motto of this campaign.
The idea of this campaign has been supported by both management and staff of the company. There were freshmen and experienced donors among those giving blood. In future the Blood Donor Days will be held in the company regularly.
