Term of blood donation extended for “Urasib” employees in regions for another month

25 largest branches of “Uralsib” have held blood donation campaign. As a result 185 liters of blood have been collected.

The campaign was held in the framework of agreement on social co-operation in promotion of free mass blood donation between “Uralsib” and the Federal Medical-Biological Agency (FMBA). During the “Donorship week” the corporation held a charity campaign “Give a book” for inmates of children’s homes.
The blood donation campaign has been held for the second time this year. According to preliminary results of the two campaigns they managed to collect about 400 liters of blood, more than 900 employees have become blood donors. But the final results will be drawn only in mid January – the term blood donation for the employees in regions has been extended for another month.

- For normal operation of public healthcare system it is necessary for the country to have 40 blood donors for each thousand people. In Russia we have so far only 13 donors. But recently, thanks to efforts of the Ministry of Health and Social Development in partnership with socially responsible companies encouraging blood donation among their staff the situation is changing for the better – the number of regular blood donors is going up. We thank the financial corporation “Uralsib” for their contribution in solvation of the problem with blood donation, for the blood which will help to save people’s lives,

- We are planning to hold similar campaigns in future and we hope that the number of donors in them will be growing,
