National public health development fund held a social campaign within the framework of the project «Give blood – save life!» in Moscow on 1 and 2 September.
Information stands of the campaign were set up in the parks Sokolniki and Izmaylovo where anyone could get information on free blood donorship and enroll to donate blood.
Volunteers told about rules of blood donation and its myths. In addition, the Muscovites and guests of the capital were offered to participate in all-Russian research on factors affecting activity of non-commercial organizations in the area of blood donation.
The results of the research will be presented in November 2012 at the All-Russian Videoconference at the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.
Following the discussion recommendations on expansion of participation of non-commercial organizations in development and promotion of voluntary blood donation will be forwarded to Ministry of Economic Development and Ministry of Public Health.
The guests were glad to participate in the campaign and noted its importance. At the end of the campaigns in parks of Izmaylovo and Sokolniki about 100 persons wished to become donors. In the near future National Healthcare Development Fund will organize the Donor Day where invites all who have enrolled.
