Results of poll conducted among donors of Novosibirsk by medics of Regional Blood Center showed interesting statistics. The question – «Why did you decided to become blood donor?» - the absolute majority – 71% - answered – «Want to help anyone in need of blood transfusion».
The fact that only every fifth of the polled was giving blood for the first time, demonstrates high level of repeated donorship.
Each twelfth blood donor in Novosibirsk has more than 10 years of donorship experience. There were 14 people among the polled who has been donating blood for more than 30 years, and there even are record breaker with donorship history of 38 and 45 years.
The results of the poll show the following social portrait of Novosibirsk donor: It is an employee or a worker aged between 20 and 40 with special high or higher education, mostly men (there are by 30% more male donors than female) and possible a top manager (14% of donors).
