December 3, a Campaign was organized in Blagoveshchensk by the Regional Blood Transfusion Station and the Amur HIV/AIDS Centre with the support of public organizations «Dream Team», «Protecting children from drugs», «Alternative».
The Campaign was held in the small hall of the Blagoveshchensk social and cultural center from 9.00 to 12.00 hours. Medical workers offered everyone to donate blood and get tested for HIV. The results of analyzes were available at the Regional Blood Transfusion Station in two days.
HIV/AIDS prevention campaigns are held in the Amur region on a regular basis, their main goal is to encourage people to get tested for the infection in the blood. But the additional opportunity to donate blood during the campaign has been offered to the residents of Blagoveshchensk for the first time. This experience proved to be quite successful. About 15 people have become donors.
