V All-Russian Blood Service Forum uniting members of donorship movement took place on 17 January 2012 to discuss results of implementation of Russian Blood Service Promotion Program. The organizers of the Forum were Ministry of Public Health and Social Development and Federal medical-Biological Agency.
The main task of the V All-Russian Blood Service Forum was summing up implementation of Voluntary Blood Donorship Promotion Program in 2012 and analysis of experience and results of four-year close cooperation between all participants of the Program.
The Forum gathered about 300 members of donorship movement: representatives of Ministry of Public Health and Social Development and Federal medical-Biological Agency; representatives of business and non-commercial organizations; journalists and donors. Chief doctors of blood transfusion stations from all over the country had arrived to know the results of the professional skill contest.
The contest gathered 102 works. The most active region was Kaliningrad Region: the blood transfusion station of the Kaliningrad Region had sent 16 works. The nominees had sent videos, presentations, photographs, posters, news stories and even a comic book. The most popular nomination “Can’t go past” – best photograph on blood donorship - gathered 46 works.
In his report Vladimir Viktorovich Uyba, Head of Federal Medical-Biological Agency outlined three main areas of development of Blood Service: providing facilities of Blood Service of subjects and federal state facilities with high-tech medical equipment; developing and keeping a single blood donation data base; and propaganda of free mass blood donation.
