Every year about 200,000 road accidents happen on the roads of Russia, and victims often need urgent transfusion. Sometimes the availability of the desired blood group in the hospital blood bank is a matter of life or death. The Russian action "Auto-MotoDonor" is designed to enhance solidarity among road users: Anyone can become a volunteer in blood donation and save a life.
The action takes place twice a year - in April and in October. Typically, in this time there is the greatest number of accidents.
From 10 to 17 motorists and motorcyclists, who have donated blood more than 6 months ago as well as those who want to donate blood for the first time, can come to the Blood Station.
