Employees of blood transfusion station of Health Care Department counted: 23 people took part in the action. Over 10 liters of blood was collected.
The blood collected will be forwarded to oncological, haematological and other city health care facilities of the capital, including the Botkin hospital, N.V. Sklifosovsky Scientific Research Institute of First Aid and to the First City Hospital where emergency care is given to the city residents. Blood donated by one donor can help four people needing it. The city hospitals annually use over 70 tons of donated blood.
People willing to donate their blood must have their passports with permanent residential registration in Moscow or the Moscow region or temporary registration in Moscow. In the latter case blood can be donated if the resident was registered at least half a year ago. On the day of donation, one should not eat any fatty, salty or sour food. In the morning a light breakfast is recommended.
The blood transfusion station of Health Care Department permanently collects blood on a round-the-clock basis at the following addresses: build. 2, house 14, Polikarpova str., Begovaya metro station and 31, Bakinskaya str., Tsaritsyno metro station.
